Z meeting at the Austrian Lakeland Country

• Lakeland Country

In spite of the summer holiday season, small but enthusiastic group of five cars with nine people took the road to attend a very different Z meting at this time of the year.

Our Austrian make fellows organised an International Z gathering at the Lakeland Country of Salzburg. Two of us even extended our visit for getting some experience of the cultural and gastronomical features of Salzburg, that actually were packed with visitors, because due beginning of the annual music festival.

• Shadow of the smokestacks

Continue the unusual, we find our reserved accommodation at the forepart of the main street of an industry town called Lenzing, that could not be called one of the nicest pearls of Austria. The "Gathausbraurei"- Leimer Brau was patinated establishment hotel from the beginning of the century, founded by the brewer-padrone Leimer's family. From the windows of our specious and comfortable room we find an unfolding view strait to the smokestacks of the factory, recalling the memory of the LP cover of Pink Floyd's Animals.

After some refreshment, we were hustling down to the pub for couple interior coolant Leimer Brau "dunkels", while exchanging thoughts about the expected excitements of the following days.

• Preparation for the actions

Suturday morning begun with car cleaning for two of us, and lot of driving for the other three cars, who left Hungary in the early hours.

While they were approaching the pick up point, we drove to the nearby town called Vöcklebrook, where the action suppose to be started.

After the usual introductions, our five Zs took their place amongst the other 300ZXs facing the new evolution line of six 350Zs.

• Natural beauty and driving pleasure

Early afternoon brought the long waited moment, when the line of 35 cars formed the Z convoy for the fun drive around the picturesque surroundings of Lake District. Small towns, winding roads and sky-high mountains come after our snaky lines, while we were enjoying the beautiful scenery and ultimate driving pleasure.

Pleasure of the fare unfortunately did not help to confine the cry after the unlooked lunch time program. Fortunately some of us cleaned out some left over sandwiches, biscuits and fruits from the boots, that we ate ravenously and were not behind with the drinks..

• Hot snitzels and Cold beers

The sunset find our fellowship on the way back to Lenzing, where we finally stopped at an Italian restaurant for consuming our "Austrian cuisine". While the cook prepared our Viener Snitzels we enjoyed the cold Edelweiss beers and gave sound ovation as we received our portions.
Our near by hotel luckily offered more food and more drinks that we accepted cheerfully.

• Sunday excitement

After a good night sleep and full hearty breakfast all of us felt ready for the new day challenges on Sunday morning.

On the homewards way we decided on more lake-around drive with interrupted swimming sessions, Z molino deepening and coffee brakes. The coffee brake was fully attended, but not the swimming session.

In spite of the crystal clear water, the temperature was the appalling factor for the soft hearted majority for dropping out from this activity. Therefore only three of us were brave enough to fallow the tradition and deepening our Z molino.

• Full of excitements and good memories

Our last Austrian brake were held under the shadow of sky high trees in a beer-garden and just a stone cast from the Abbey of Melk.

The fallowing couple of hundred kilometres up to the Austrian-Hungarian borders passed quickly under the after-glowing sunshine

Full of excitements and good memories, how we remember to this weekend.

Thanks for creator who made these natural beauties and blessed the Austrians with, and thanks for the organisers who let us share some of it..
