Queen of the West, Destination Szombathely

• Suturday early morning

After small greetings, little chat and introduction to the new members, we formed our line and moved on towards to the High Way for the first couple hundred kilometres, while reaching the pick up points, additional members joined us from nearby towns.

• Towards to Szombathely

Unfortunately our queue broken up when we reached a serious accident, wherefrom only three cars could follow the original path, the rest had to take long lasting by-pass roads. The drive to the venue therefore took much more time than we expected, but finally all of us arrived luckily in one piece.

• Open day at Nissan Magyar

As the cars formed the show line under the hot sunny sky on the selected parking spot, were we welcomed by representatives of our host Nissan Dealership, who took very well care of us, with not only the badly needed cold drinks but delicious food platters as well. After the consumed refreshments our partners occupied the couches of the air conditioned cool show rooms, while we guys begun visiting each other cars for recognising the executed improvement tasks.

• Afternoon drive to Kőszeg

The afternoon drive took us to a nearby small town, called Kőszeg where we stretched out our legs with a little sight seeing around the old city. The walk concluded in a small outdoor café, where we washed down the dust of the road with drinks, ice creams, ice coffee, and cakes.

• Dinner in the Pot Hole

The drive back to our hotel, followed by a short brake for refreshments and change. At dinner time a hired bus waited, for taking us to one of the best restaurants Szombathely can offer, called Pot-Hole (Gödör) The restaurant rightly earned its fame, since the food was delicious, the portions were huge, the drinks were cold and very foamy !!!!

• Old Timer Museum at Hartberg

Early Sunday find us on the road again toward to the Austrian border, heading to visit one of the largest privately owned old timer museum at Hartberg. A huge hangar size building is giving the home for more than two hundred cars on 24.000 m2.
It was an unbelievingly smashing experience as we wondered along the court of car kingdom, as we bolt down the sight of hundred years of marvel.
After this unforgettable spectacle we selected a winding road back to Hungary, that took us across the best scenery of the hilly Burgernad.

• On the way back

Mid afternoon reached our next stop at city Fertőd, where is the largest remaining castle is located.. Not in the castle but nearby, we had our farewell afternoon meal together, that followed a crazy cannon ball run on the High Way towards to Budapest.

See you all in July in Austria ,, another two days with the Austrian, German and Swiss Zed guys
