Unique Auto Sport of Sydney

The focus is not just straight-line performance either, with UAS's John Penlington able to recommend a suspension and brake package that will transform your ZEDs handling into something truly special.
John's own circuit build 300ZX is a clear indication of what can be achieved, given you have plenty of time and money.

John Penlington is probably one of the biggest Zed funs in Australia, and has been arguing the virtues of the Z32 300ZX longer than he has been running Unique Autosport in Castle Hill.
To prove a point, he embarked on a major rebuild of his own car, creating what Japanese workshops refer to a time-attack car. It is purpose built to run faster times and beat lap records. John's personal goal, which was achieved, to run faster than any GT-R's at his local tracks, Easter Creek, Oran Park and Wakefield Park.
"It is faster than all GT-R around Oran Park, at 48.36 to date while still runing standard turbos" John explaned, as we gathered around his car.

It is also worth mentioning that John's realisation of the potential hels in the V6 perform was also recognised by Nismo in 2002. Their GT500 cars no longer ran straight six RB26DETT power plant, insted replaced by the Twin Turbo VQ30DETT vee six, before the introduction of the Z33 based track cars

While John was explaining the major changes and upgrades performed on his car, I had little time to wonder around the workshop and Dino-tuning area.
Wherever I looked, the areas were clean, almost sterile, The workshops were fully equipped and had an heir professionalism. Zeds, Silvias, Skylines, GTRs and SXs were on hoists or parked side by side along the building, awaiting their present or future owners.
Wherever you turned tuning parts and body kits adorned the walls and glass cabinets, like hunting trophies.... Certanly makes you wonder how many other treasures were hidden in various sections that were off limits.

Such srtong impression was left on me, that even after two weeks I am left wondering why European Zed funs stepson's of Fortuna, are being denied these advantages which seem so available in other part of the word.

We have yet to truly open the import market to readily available aftermarket parts and tuning modifications for such cars.

....And who knows, dreams of sending my own Zed to UAS for full shopping list of modifications may soon become reality..
